Working in Wigston Magna

As well as Wigston Magna itself (LE2, LE8 and LE18), we survey in Oadby, Leicester and Earl Shilton.

In Wigston Magna, as anywhere, the age of the house decides a lot: pipe sizes, floor construction and where the soil stack runs. We plan luxury bathrooms in Wigston Magna with drawings and a full product schedule, and the price is fixed in writing once the design is agreed. If you live in a listed building in Wigston Magna, we flag any change that may need listed building consent, such as a new soil pipe through a wall.

Supplies across most of Leicestershire are hard. We plan easy-clean glass, rimless toilets and finishes that do not show limescale. Hardness varies street by street, so check the figure for your postcode with your water supplier.

What the job includes

Underfloor heating, layered lighting and any steam unit wired by a qualified electrician, tested and certified
Bespoke fitted furniture, mitred tile edges and recessed niches
A full snag check, sealing of stone where needed, and a handover of manuals and isolation points
A full product schedule naming every piece of sanitaryware, brassware, tile and light fitting

Decisions to make first

Freestanding bath material

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch. Stone resin holds heat and feels solid but is much heavier. Cast iron is the heaviest of all and nearly always needs a structural check.

Lighting

Layer it: IP-rated ceiling lights for general use, a lit mirror at the basin and low-level LED in niches or plinths for night, each on its own switch or dimmer.

Rules that apply in England

In England, the new circuits a luxury bathroom often needs, for underfloor heating, a steam unit or a digital shower, are notifiable under Part P. An unvented hot-water cylinder, often fitted to feed a large shower, must be installed by a G3-qualified installer, and any work on the boiler must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Luxury bathrooms in Wigston Magna: questions

How much should I budget for a luxury bathroom in Wigston Magna?

A luxury bathroom in Wigston Magna usually costs £11,500–£24,000 including VAT. The final figure comes down to what you choose and what we find at the survey; your written quote lists every item so you can see where the money goes.

Who handles building control for a luxury bathroom in Wigston Magna?

Building control for Wigston Magna is handled by the local council or an approved inspector. If your job needs sign-off — for example a new circuit, new drainage or a new extractor where there was none — we tell you at the survey and handle the notification as part of the work.

How long does a luxury bathroom take?

Allow 10–15 working days on site for most jobs, plus the lead time for products after you approve the quote. We give you a day-by-day plan before work starts in Wigston Magna.

Is the home survey in Wigston Magna really free?

Yes. We visit, measure the room, check the pipework, drainage and electrics, and talk through what you want. You then get a written, itemised quote with no obligation to go ahead.

Microcement or tiles in a luxury bathroom?

Microcement gives a seamless finish with no grout lines, but it must go on a stable, well-prepared base and be properly sealed. Large-format porcelain gives a similarly clean look, is harder-wearing and is easier to repair if something is dropped on it. We price both if you are undecided.
