Working in Forres

As well as Forres itself (IV36), we survey in Nairn, Elgin and Lossiemouth.

Forres gets the same process as anywhere else: a free survey at your home and a written, itemised quote. If your Forres shower enclosure has a leaking door seal or a cracked tray, a walk-in panel removes the door altogether. For a walk-in shower in Forres, we check the water pressure first, so the head you choose will actually perform.

Supplies across most of Moray are soft. If that holds for your street in Forres, limescale on shower glass and heads builds up slowly and a squeegee after use is usually enough. Hardness varies street by street, so check the figure for your postcode with your water supplier.

What the job includes

Tanking to the shower walls, and to the floor where it is tiled
Wall tiling, with an optional recessed niche
A low-profile stone-resin tray, or a floor former with a linear drain for a tiled level floor
A survey of the space, the waste position, water pressure and the hot-water system

Decisions to make first

Head

A large overhead head feels luxurious but needs good flow. A handset on a riser is easier for rinsing hair and cleaning the shower.

Tray or tiled floor

A tray is quicker, costs less and has a small lip. A tiled floor with a linear drain sits level with the rest of the room and lets one tile run throughout.

Rules that apply in Scotland

In Scotland, a straight swap from a bath or enclosure to a walk-in shower does not normally need a building warrant, though altering the drainage may. Water fittings must meet the Scottish Water Byelaws 2014.

Walk-in showers in Forres: questions

What is the price of a walk-in shower in Forres?

A walk-in shower in Forres usually costs £2,400–£5,800 including VAT. Expect the lower end for a like-for-like job with standard products, and the upper end if things move or you choose premium finishes. Your quote is itemised and fixed in writing once agreed.

How long does a walk-in shower take?

Allow 2–5 working days on site for most jobs, plus the lead time for products after you approve the quote. We give you a day-by-day plan before work starts in Forres.

Is the home survey in Forres really free?

Yes. We visit, measure the room, check the pipework, drainage and electrics, and talk through what you want. You then get a written, itemised quote with no obligation to go ahead.

Do you cover IV36 in Forres?

Yes. We cover all of Forres, including IV36, and nearby Nairn, Elgin and Lossiemouth. Survey visits are free and arranged at a time that suits you.

Do walk-in showers splash?

A walk-in shower splashes when the tray is too short, the panel too narrow or the head points towards the open end. A long tray, a panel covering most of its length and a head mounted at the closed end keep the water in. In a tight space, a small hinged return panel at the open end helps.
